African club moss

- Selaginella kraussiana

Selaginella is an attractive ground cover plant that originated in Central Africa. Found particularly along paths in damp areas this plant covers the ground and has the potential to shade out small seedlings. Selaginella forms roots along the stems where they come in contact with the ground and bears spores on small cones.

Control: Easily controlled with Glyphosate but requires repeat application to control sporelings as they appear. Regular two monthly applications over a year are likely to attain good control.
