Mingimingi / Leucopogon
fasciculatus
Mingimingi is a shrub found on well drained clay
banks, either in full sunlight or under taller trees. The tiny flowers appear in
spring and the fruit is ready right now. Mingimingi is slow to germinate and
slow growing, so care must be taken with trays of seed to avoid weeds and excess
or insufficient moisture.

This newsletter has emerged as a response to
interest expressed from a number of people about the fruiting times, fruit
variety and propagation of the native plants of the Waikato. It has been
provided by Ecosourced Waikato out of a concern that the
distinctive character of the Waikato flora be protected
and appreciated by the wider
community
